a birthday tease

Does this woman look 85 years old? Well, that is what she is! Seemah looks utterly wonderful and fantastic! On July 26th she turned eighty-five years old and on Thursday, we celebrated her half-way mark with a "Ladies Who Lunch".....! I have a lot of organizing to do of the many pictures I took, so, this is just a bit of a tease post...... The theme of our Gift Bags this time was Being A "Princess"....so a lot of stuff in the bag was related to that----thus, the 'Crown' you see on Seemah's head.....In the picture just above was the little individual Rose in a clear pale pink glass that each of my guests could take home with them....Such a beautiful simple and lovely idea, from the wonderful Van. And above, another very beautiful arrangement from the already mentioned Van.....There were some extraordinary flowers in this one, as there always are....You will see more as I go along.....Just know, I am having a lot of 'life issues' that need to be dealt with, so forgive me for not posting more often and not visiting more often, too.....

I am finding things harder and harder to deal with----Refrigerators that keep breaking down---even during the LWL.....Oy; Ants that have invaded my house and seem to be taking over---Hoping to get rid of them tomorrow; physical problems that are just wearing me out, etc., etc., etc.....I just don't seem to have the same resiliency that I use to.....Sometimes, like right now, I feel older than Seemah's actual age....Not complaining---just explaining.....lol!

I hope you all have a lovely relaxed wonderful weekend....and know that I will get around to everyone as soon as I can.....Thanks for understanding.....

the purple blues

Above, the "abstract" first....the petals are gorgeous----they sing...... They move, as if there was a slight breeze.....the color goes from deep purple to light lavender, depending on the light......We back away a little bit to see more of 'the flower'....so soft, so sensuous, so sexy..... We go to a different view....Ohhhhh, this is even prettier with that beautiful complex pink person next to it.....The contrast is stunning...... We back up a bit more so that we see some of that pink and a bit of yellow, too....What a gorgeous flower this purple blues is....the flow of the petals---again, as if a slight breeze is moving them....... Backing up even more.....we see more of the great beauty surrounding that exquisite purple person......the pink, the yellow, the lavender the shocking pink...... Here's some fabulous contrast for you....the Yellow Rose, and the Lavender Hydrangea.....And now these bring out the 'blue' of our purple person....... A different shot of this same flower....I just cannot get over how beautiful the petals are.....the curves are startling, in a way......Let's get closer here....... And another view below....... And another....... And one more....... And here below....one more view of this lovely flower........ With a little hint of that touch of yellow deep inside........And below.....the last picture I will share with you of this special sweet flower which was a part of the two arrangements for my birthday.......

peony beauty

This is a very close look of this, below....... And the above is a closer look at this, below...... And here, below, are some other close views of this very beautiful flower. These were a part of the two Birthday Flower Arrangements, along with the Roses and some other very exquisite flowers......Here is a very lovely closer look at some of the petals of this flower.... What I love is....You can see a slight little tinge of the deep dark red that looks like it got splashed there by some kind of paint...See it? Waaaaay up at the tippy top of the picture...slightly right-of-the-middle as we look at it......But besides that...look at how delicate those petals are....so very soft....my, my my........ And I love this one, too....Again...just a hint of that deep dark red...here and there.....what is that all about, pray tell? Oh My, indeed....! Here is a closer look at the exquisite beauty of this bit of color, up against the white of those gorgeous soft sensuous petals.....Look at that color! Just look! Or should I say colors? And look at this, above....More color, just thrown there by God's Paint Brush....like a bit of a Jackson Pollack painting---Well, not really, But....maybe that's where he got his ideas. That's where most people get their ideas.....they get them from nature. Above....a closer look from a slightly different point of view.....More color....What is this all about? What is the message here people? What is God trying to tell us? I think he/she is trying to tell us that Nature is the only thing that is real. That Nature is the only thing that is constant and "real"...... That Nature is the only thing we can trust, in every way. The flowers, the Plants, The Animals, The Insects, The Fish......These are what Nature/God, created. Where we came from----I don't know. Only God knows. But what I do know is this: Nature gives us everything we need to stay alive---that is what nature does. Oh! How beautiful is that? Oh My. Like a bleeding heart. Like A Bleeding Heart. I swear I have painted these flowers in some abstract kind of a way in the past----I truly have.....Awesome. Nature is awesome. And I am deeply deeply in awe....... That Nature survives in spite of us is the true Miracle....We are systematically destroying everything that Nature has created.....

Polar Bears...ENDANGERED to the point of being almost extinct, to name just one thing we are destroying. (What the hell is wrong with us?) Why can't we see what we are doing? Why is it so very many people don't care or even believe that this is what we are doing?

Well, I pray that we wake up and see what we are doing before the Beautiful Peony and all these other flowers below are gone.......And all the other things of Nature, too, includimg the beautiful dear Polar Bear......

show me some more roses

The light was so very pretty while I took these pictures....it was late afternoon and the sun was streaming in through my Dining Room window and though it was getting low and would soon be behind the mountain....it was still very bright.....Here below is a closer look at this same flower.... There were some other roses that Van used in the two arrangements....they were more of a peach color as apposed to pink....They were so incredibly beautiful..... And these Roses went from this inner Peach-Pink, out to this pale green, as the pinkish ones did, too, but more complex in a way...... Here below are a group of these flowers all together....This picture was taken about three days after I got this arrangement.....But it is still beautiful...... And here below....another view of these lovely special Roses....... And then, below.....because it is almost my most favorite thing to do....A closer look at these exquisite roses....in this case, right up against a scrumptious yellow Rose....(There will be more of these in a later post.....). Nature gives us everything that is beautiful and pure and real and therefor, awesome...... And here below....some more close-ups of these Roses.....Feast your eyes...... I love these gradations of color....it is something very close to my soul---I have done so many paintings where there are gradations of color.....so, this just pleases my eye and my heart, too......In fact, I love everything about these flowers.....Everything! Above, all those many colors and all those gradations are in this one flower! Perfect! Totally perfect! Above, two of these flowers are hugging each other....more perfection of color and shape. That's one of the other things that knocks me out about Roses.....The shapes of the petals. Look at the softness of those beautiful petals.....More gradations, too..... More colors and more curves, above....... Light and dark and shadows, above and below.......It's all like a beautiful abstract painting.....And it well could be...except, it's not. It's this, below.

show me some roses

These were the most BEAUTIFUL Roses.....the colors were just mesmerizing in every way..... The incredibly talented Van of The Conservatory had made two Arrangements for me---one was a gift from the lovely Terri of Island Writer, and the other was a gift from Van, himself---in honor of my Birthday. He used a lot of Roses....the ones in this post are just one of the types of Roses, he used...... As a painter and as a person who loves color more than anything---I found these so very beautiful...They were not just pink....there were gradations of other colors....But just look at the center of this Rose above....The pink is so very deep...... A closer look at the depth of that pink.....And then below....a closer look at the gradations of the petals as we leave the center of the rose..... I can never get enough of the beauty of Roses.....not ever. Just look at the way the petals seem to flow outward in such a perfect way.....there are no mistakes in nature...It is all perfect and all beautiful. Even the imperfectness of the shapes is perfect, to me....and look at how the outer petals have this lovely soft green tinge...... And then you put another flower of another color next to it and that brings out more of the colors of the Rose.....But, there isn't a bad picture of a Rose, no matter what! No matter what angle you take it from, it takes your breath away.....It is truly awesome, to me......There will be more Roses coming along next time, too. They will be of some different colors, of course.....Meanwhile, enjoy!
